GGU-CANTILEVER: Classical water pressure approach
Water pressure can be effective on the active and passive sides of the cantilever wall. The classical water pressure approach corresponds to the following illustration.
The resulting water pressure load is shown in the next figure.
However, the classical approach does not take the permeability of the soil into consideration. The gradients on the active and passive sides are obtained by assuming a linear reduction in pressure.
